Ordering & Shipping
Please use the tentative order form (mail or fax) or call or e-mail to make your order. Once we confirm your order, you will be sent an acknowledgement and billed for payment. Shipping charges, Styroblock deposit, and applicable sales tax will be added to seedling costs. Most orders are shipped via UPS or SpeeDee Delivery so we need a street address; post office boxes are not acceptable. All orders shipped to a Minnesota resident or a Minnesota address will have 6.875% sales tax added unless we are furnished with a sales tax exemption number. We may also require you to complete a sales tax exemption form.
SHIPPING OPTIONS: If you are planning to plant as soon as you receive your trees, you may choose to have your trees extracted from the Styroblocks and bundled. This significantly reduces the space needed for transport and, in turn, reduces shipping costs. Trees are generally in bundles or bags of 20 (up to Styro 6 size). Larger plug sizes have fewer trees per bundle. These bundles are easily handled by planters. Your only extra cost is for the boxes in which they are packed. This option is becoming increasingly popular every year. Please note that when extracted and bundled, the plugs will lose their round shape and may not fit the holes made by round dibbles. A planting bar works well for these.
If your planting project will be spread out over several weeks or may be delayed due to weather or other reasons, we recommend taking delivery of the trees in the Styroblocks. You will be charged a Styroblock deposit (refundable upon return) and all other related shipping charges.
We make many delivery trips on our own truck and would contact you if your order could be included on one of these trips. You are welcome to pick up your order at our greenhouses (see map on About Us page). Please call ahead if you are planning to pick up your trees.
TERMS: Orders for less than $150.00 require full payment when order is made. All others require 25% non-refundable deposit. No trees are reserved without required payment. For established accounts, balance is due within 30 days of tree delivery. For all others, payment is due at time of pickup or before trees are shipped. Monthly service charge of 1.5% is added to past due accounts.
We have a new online payment option accessed through a link on your order form. This is through the Intuit Payment Network. No IPN account is necessary and we collect no information about your payment method. We like this option because the fees are lower than those of credit and debit cards which are a significant expense for us. When ordering, please let us know if you are interested in using this option.
We accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. If making payment with one of these cards, we will need cardholders name, credit card account number, security code, expiration date (month and year) and billing address of card if different from address we have for you.
CANCELLATIONS: All cancellations for bareroot orders must be received before December 1. Cancellations for containerized stock may be accepted up to time of shipment. If we have to hold a containerized stock order past the originally stated season of delivery (generally spring or fall), an additional maintenance charge of up to 15% per season held may be charged. Any trees lost to mortality during this extra holding period will not be replaced.
DISCLAIMER: Orders are accepted subject to crop conditions and seller is not responsible for any crop losses due to natural causes, theft, error in inventory count, labor problems or other causes beyond our control. Under no circumstances shall we be liable for any cost exceeding original purchase price of order.
